Film Review: “Ezekiel’s Landing” (2015)

As a kid, one of my favorite shows to watch growing up was “The X-Files” on Fox. The show centered around its charismatic and likable leads, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson who play FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Both are part of a secret division known as the X-Files where they investigate bizarre cases. The believer-skeptic dynamic between both Mulder and Scully was an incredibly strong point of the show as is the creative avenues the show itself took. Throughout its 11 season run, the show explored cults, monsters, the supernatural, and even had a crossover with the show “Cops”. However, one thing that remained popular among the show and its fans are that of extraterrestrials.

We don’t see a lot of Alien films being made nowadays. The only time we get anything close to an alien movie is in the form of science fiction IPs such as “Alien” or “Predator”. The last known alien conspiracy film to even come out was the 2017 film, “Phoenix Forgotten”. Despite being produced by Ridley Scott, the film made zero impact on release receiving less than stellar reviews (a 45% on rotten tomatoes) and only grossing $4 million at the box office against a $3 million budget, making the film’s title an unfortunate truth in advertising.
