Do you know that one moment where the main character goes back home to find out who they truly are? I lived that.

In 2000, after my parents divorced, my father and brother moved to New Jersey, and then shortly after that, my father remarried. In 2001, My mother and I moved from Long Island, NY, to Philadelphia due to a job opportunity. My father (along with my brother, his wife, and her sons) moved to Medford, NJ, in 2004. I frequently visited Medford every weekend, and when school was out, I’d spend the summers there. In 2013, after graduating high school in Connecticut, I moved into my father's house in South Jersey.

I moved down there so I could enroll in community college. Unfortunately, I did not apply myself and couldn’t afford to keep going and fail. I also had no idea what I wanted to do at the time. I went from wanting to be an x-ray tech to wanting to move up the management ladder at the local Wawa I was working at to wanting to be a Medical Assistant. I was still working at Wawa, and despite working with some truly remarkable people, I was miserable and stressed. I was miserable at home because I felt like the environment was toxic. I needed to get out.
