Over the past few weeks, while theaters slowly made a rebound with hits like Universal’s “Candyman” and Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings”, The streaming market was graced with two films that trended on social media for all the wrong reasons. On August 27th, Netflix and Miramax released the remake of the 1999 teen classic, “She’s All That” titled “He’s All That”. On September 3rd, Amazon Prime Video and Sony Pictures released an Update on the classic fairy tale, “Cinderella”. From bad trailers to complaints about the constant regurgitation of remakes to, of course, wokeness, The torches and pitchforks were out on Twitter for both films.
