Film Review: “No Exit” (2022)
Are You In Good Hands?
As I have stated in my review for “Death On The Nile”, I love a good whodunnit film. If a thriller of that kind can keep me guessing, I would declare it as good. The less predictable the outcome, the better. It would also lead to giving us time to get to know the characters involved. With Netflix, Disney +, and HBO Max dominating in terms of streaming, Hulu has provided some hidden gems. In 2020, we had “Run”, an incredible and effective thriller about a girl who is trying to break free of her abusive and controlling mother. Out of all the services we have, Hulu has been unfairly overlooked by many.
This brings us to our latest film from 20th Century Films and Hulu, “No Exit”. Based on the book by Taylor Adams, the film stars Havana Rose Liu as a recovering drug addict. As she heads for the hospital to see her mother, against the wishes of her estranged sister, a snowstorm starts to occur. With no signs of slowing down, Darby is forced to wade out the rest of the storm at a nearby visitors center. However, upon arrival, Darby is not alone. She is greeted by a marine (Dennis Haysbert), his wife (Dale Dickey), and a pair of travelers (Danny Ramirez & David Rhysdal). As the night goes on, Darby soon discovers that in one of the vehicles lies an abducted child.
